The Warner Robins Junior Woman’s League will be hosting one of the year’s most exciting events Friday: the annual A Night Out Band Party.
The evening will feature music from The Has Beens, a band that is composed of former members of the bands Stillwater and Doc Holliday. Both Stillwater and Doc Holiday were extremely popular and have origins in Middle Georgia. Stillwater had several members from Warner Robins and recorded albums on the Capricorn label out of Macon, while Doc Holliday toured with several large name acts in the 1980s.
Proceeds from the event will go to help fund numerous community projects of the Warner Robins Junior Woman’s Club. The Junior Woman’s Club has made education a priority by providing a scholarship every year at Warner Robins High School, Northside High School, Veterans High School and Houston County High School, as well as for a student at Central Georgia Technical College. The club also makes donations to local organizations such as Family Promise, which provides services to the homeless like shelter and job training. It also helps fund Abba House, a Christian addiction recovery program for women.
Other ongoing projects of the Warner Robins Junior Woman’s Club include Christmas gifts for needy families, stuffing stockings for the Salvation Army and providing holiday meals for the needy at Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Members of the club also donate hundreds of hours of time throughout the year volunteering at activities such as Read Across America.
Never miss a local story.
A Night Out Band Party tickets include great music along with hors d’oeuvres. There will be a cash bar. Raffle tickets for a silent auction also are included in the ticket price.
