WARNER ROBINS — In a called meeting Monday, City Council approved resolutions in support of two proposed apartment complexes on South Houston Lake Road.
While the projects are by separate developers, the lots are adjacent just north of Feagin Mill Road. The developers were not at the meeting.
The meeting was called because the developers had a deadline to meet to apply to the Georgia Department of Community Affairs for affordable housing tax credits.
The resolutions, one for each development, were approved by a 4-0 vote, with Mayor Randy Toms voting so there would be a quorum. Council members voting were Tim Thomas, Mike Davis and Carolyn Robbins.

Before the vote, Thomas pointed out that the property was rezoned to allow for apartments years ago.
“We cannot stop them from doing what they are doing,” Thomas said.
Vantage Development LLC is building one of the complexes, which will have 96 units. The other is a 90-unit complex being built by Realtex Development Corp.
George Eichler, who owns the property where the Realtex development would be built, said after the meeting that he is selling the property to the company. He didn’t know when construction might start.
Representatives of the companies did not immediately return calls seeking comment.
Sherry Windham, the city’s director of community development, said the resolutions were needed for the companies to apply for the tax credit. Whether the city approved the resolutions, she said, would not make or break the application. Ultimately, it would be up to the state to approve it.
