Ga. 96 will become a single-lane road at night for most of August.
The Georgia Department of Transportation said the work had been rescheduled to begin Monday night between Lake Joy Road and Houston Lake Road. The work is scheduled to run from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. through the morning of Aug. 25, as crews install storm drain crossings.
The busy stretch of road is being widened.
The work will begin eastbound, headed toward Houston Lake Road, before shifting to the other side. The state said motorists should slow down and be aware of workers and equipment.
