WARNER ROBINS — “Twilight” fans who give blood Thursday or Friday at Houston Lake Stadium Cinemas will receive a free ticket to see the saga’s finale.
“Vampires and blood drives go hand in hand,” said Sheila McDaniel, a registered nurse and “Twilight” fan organizing the event.
Thursday’s blood drive will be held 1-10 p.m. Donors will receive a ticket to the 10 p.m. showing of “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2” and a “Breaking Dawn” T-shirt.
Friday’s blood drive will be held noon-6 p.m. Donors will receive a ticket to a show time of their choice and a T-shirt.Joshua Reid-Davis, a member of the production staff for TV’s “The Vampire Diaries,” will emcee the event, which also includes trivia and other giveaways.
LifeSouth Community Blood Centers will collect the blood. Donors must be at least 17 years old and weigh at least 110 pounds. Sixteen-year-olds may donate with written parental consent.
The event also was held for the 2011 premiere of the first part of “Breaking Dawn.”
“Last year we had 100 pints of blood, and we had to turn people away because we only had one van,” said McDaniel, who has a “Twilight”-themed bedroom. “This year we’re going to have two big vans.
“We just had an awesome experience and turnout.”
