WARNER ROBINS — Police have identified a suspect and the victim in a Wednesday afternoon shooting in the northern part of Warner Robins, according to a news release.
Police are searching for Ken Solomon, 22, of Warner Robins, and believe him to be the man that shot Lacourtney Chester, 22, of Warner Robins, at about 12:30 p.m. in the 200 block of Wendan Way, the release stated.
Chester was found in the street with a single gunshot wound to the abdomen, according to police spokeswoman Tabitha Pugh. He was transported to The Medical Center of Central Georgia and is in stable condition, the release stated.
Four schools were locked down for about 20 minutes following the shooting, according to Linda Horne of Houston County schools. She said Northside High, Westside Elementary, Parkwood Elementary and Lindsey Elementary schools were put on code yellow status. The status meant students were restricted to their classrooms, and — unlike a code red — instruction continued.
