Perry City Council voted unanimously Tuesday to adjust two water and sewer fees, City Manager Lee Gilmour said Wednesday.
The first resolution the council approved adjusts the amount of money builders will pay to install and replace water meters for new structures. Gilmour said the changes were suggested after a review of the costs to the city. He said the city breaks even on the installations.
According to the new fee schedule, the smallest meters will cost builders $430 each, the middle-sized ones will cost $1,980 and the largest will cost $2,180. The former fees were $1,100, $1,300 and $4,000, respectively.
The second adjustment the council approved Tuesday was an administrative fee that has been charged for more than a decade but was overlooked when the ordinance was written.
