WARNER ROBINS — A $461,348 Community Development Block Grant awarded to the city of Warner Robins will be spread among a host of public service agencies, a city official says.
“A lot of these services would not be able to be provided to the citizens of Warner Robins if we did not receive these funds,” said Sherri Windham, the city’s CDBG program director.
U.S. Housing and Urban Development announced the award Friday of $9.1 million in federal funds for affordable housing and community development in Georgia, including the $461,348 CDBG monies for Warner Robins.
Among the organizations that get a slice of the pie is Gateway Cottage at $10,000, according to a breakdown of the CDBG funding provided by Windham. Some others include $10,000 for the Community Outreach Service Center, $30,000 for the Certified Literate Community Program, $5,000 for the Community Action Agency, $10,000 for the Family Counseling Center, $60,000 for Rebuilding Together and $25,000 for Habitat for Humanity.
