The Perry City Council approved an amendment that would reduce impact fees during its regular meeting Tuesday.
The amendment calls for the single-family household fee to be reduced from $963.94 to $766.52.
For commercial and industrial properties, the fee would be reduced from 41 cents per square foot to 32 cents per square foot.
The amendment also will exempt any property in the impact fee area constructed before 2000. City manager Lee Gilmour said the fee was reduced because an evaluation of the fee found that the portion to create a park was too high.
Never miss a local story.
The impact fees will be implemented July 1 to fund the creation of a park and at least one new fire station.
