WARNER ROBINS — A Pineview man died Friday morning after a single-vehicle wreck on Ga. 247 about a half mile south of Davidson Road in Bonaire.
Mark Wayne McKinney, 48, was negotiating a curve in the 1996 Geo Tracker he was driving north on Ga. 247 when the sport utility vehicle ran off the east side of the road, according to a Houston County Sheriff’s Office news release.
McKinney overcorrected and traveled back onto the road and across the southbound lane, the release said. He attempted to regain control and steered back toward the northbound lane when the vehicle overturned.
McKinney was seriously injured as the vehicle rolled over to a stop in the southbound lane. He was transported to Houston Medical Center, and he later died from his injuries, the release stated.

McKinney was wearing a seat belt, the release said.
The 4:40 a.m. accident remains under investigation by Houston County sheriff’s Cpl. Sean Alexander.
