WARNER ROBINS — Hundreds of people woke up Monday morning without water in parts of the city. A water main broke at 4 a.m. on Russell Parkway, said Sgt. Jim Adams of Houston County 911.Warner Robins Utilities Director Montie Walters said utility crews were able to shut off valves to limit customers affected to the immediate area of the break near McNeal Insurance Agency at 1717 Russell Parkway.
Those without water or with low water pressure for most of the morning included a group of businesses and a couple of apartment complexes within the boundaries of the Corder Road extension, Houston Lake Road and Russell Parkway, Walters said.
It was not known what caused the pipe to split and it took utility crews about an hour to find the problem, he said.
A 20-foot section of the 12-inch pipe was replaced, Walters said.
