Tyler Bryant, a Warner Robins High School graduate, took time off between finishing his bachelor's degree and starting graduate school next year to write a three-book children's series. The first one, "The Canvas Adventures," has been released.
A senior who has cheered for four years at Houston County High School was named the 2015 Georgia Cheerleader of the Year by the Georgia Cheerleading Coaches Association Cheerleader at the GHSA state cheerleader finals held in Columbus this month.
The Middle Georgia Model Railroad Club is showcasing some elaborate model trains this week. The exhibit is free and open to the public and will take place daily from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. through Nov. 29 but will close for Thanksgiving.
There is only one question on the ballot in an upcoming Middle Georgia special election. Six Republicans are running for a state Senate seat in District 20 that covers part of Houston County plus all of Bleckley, Laurens and Pulaski counties.
