Interstate 75 North was blocked for three hours early Thursday when a sod truck overturned.
The 1998 Peterbilt tractor-trailer hit the guard rail at the Interstate 16 exit ramp about 1:30 a.m. and overturned, dumping sod all over the highway, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
Heavy equipment had to be brought in to clear the road, which took a little more than three hours.
The driver, 36-year-old Robert Bolton of Cordele, was taken to Medical Center, Navicent Health to be checked out. He was in stable condition shortly after the accident.
Never miss a local story.
Bibb deputies cited him with driving too fast for conditions.
The highway reopened about 5 a.m. Thursday.
