Claystone Beach at Lake Tobesofkee reopened for swimmers Saturday after a follow-up water test came back clean.
Macon-Bibb County closed the beach Friday as a precaution after a water test showed elevated levels of the E. coli bacteria. A second test to confirm those results came back Saturday morning and showed the levels were normal, said Macon-Bibb spokesman Chris Floore.
The beach reopened at its normal time Saturday, which is 11 a.m.
Floore said previously that the first test did not mandate closure, but it was done as a precaution until the second test could be completed.
