Fifteen people died on Georgia roads over the long Memorial Day Weekend, including two people who died in accidents in Houston and Monroe counties.
A man was killed just before 2 a.m. Saturday when he ran off Ga. 96 just east of Peach Blossom Road in Houston County, according to a news release from the Houston County Sheriff’s Office.
The man, 25-year-old Christopher Carter, of Warner Robins, hit an embankment and rolled his small car, said Houston County Coroner Danny Galpin.
Another Warner Robins man, Jeffrey Deane, 37, died in Monroe County after overturning his vehicle on Ga. 87 near the intersection with Christian Road, according to a news release from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
Deane was traveling south in his red Chevrolet 1500 pickup, when the vehicle left the roadway, struck a ditch and flipped.
The Georgia Department of Public Safety tracked highway fatalities between 6 p.m. Friday and midnight Monday.
