The public fishing season at Javors Lucas Lake is set to open this weekend.
Fishing this spring at the lake, which is owned by the Macon Water Authority, will begin Friday and run through April 26, according to a news release from the authority.
The lake will be open for fishing on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 6 a.m.-7 p.m.

From May 1-June 28, the lake will be open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 6 a.m.-3 p.m.
The lake will be closed to public fishing during July and August but will reopen Sept. 5.
This year, the lake also will be closed on Memorial Day, May 25; the Fourth of July; and Labor Day, which is Sept. 7.
The lake will be open two days a week -- Saturday and Sunday -- from 7 a.m.-4 p.m. Sept. 5-Oct. 25.
After Oct. 25, the lake will be closed to public fishing and boating through February 2016.
A highlight of the 2015 fishing season at Javors Lucas Lake will be the MWA Kids Fishing Derby, which will be 7-10 a.m. June 13. Registration will begin at 6 a.m., and the friendly competition is open to youths ages 3 to 16. A snack lunch and refreshments will be served, and prizes will be awarded at 11:30 a.m.
