Macon-Bibb County is getting into college football in a big way Saturday. The Parks and Recreation departments will be showing the University of Georgia-Clemson University game on a 40-foot projection screen in Central City Park, free to the public.
Tailgating in the park is encouraged, Recreation Director Dale “Doc” Dougherty said. The public is invited to bring grills and drinks. Alcohol will be allowed in the park, but neither booze nor glass will be permitted inside the United Building, where the game will be shown, Dougherty said.
Admission and parking are free. Visitors can start setting up at 12:30 p.m., and the game begins at 5 p.m. The event ends at 10 p.m.
The Georgia-South Carolina game will be shown in the park Sept. 13.
