Before Mercer University opens its football season against Reinhardt at 7 p.m. Thursday, there are a few things that you may want to know.
The only remaining available tickets for Thursday’s game are for seating in the grass berm in the end zone. Cost is $8. The ticket office opens three hours before kickoff and closes at halftime. Gates open 90 minutes prior to kickoff. Will-call tickets can be picked up only in the Butler Family Plaza next to Gate 2. Will-call opens three hours before kickoff. Fans must show picture identification to pick up tickets.
HOW TO GET TO THE STADIUM

Mercer University Stadium is less than a mile off Exit 163 on Interstate 75. Fans take a right off the ramp if traveling from the south or left on Mercer University Drive if coming from the north. After exiting the highway onto Mercer University Drive, the stadium is on the left. You can take a left at either of the first two stoplights to park on campus.
The following lots will be closed at midnight Wednesday in advance of Thursday’s game: the School of Engineering lot, the School of Medicine lot, the Religious Life Center lot, the Stetson Hall lot, the University Center lots, the Drake Field House lots and Stadium Drive lots.
Gameday parking is available for $10 in the University Center lots, the Stetson Hall lot, the School of Medicine lot, the School of Engineering lot, Noland Building lots to the south of Mercer University Drive and the lots to the east of the stadium across from the tennis center on College Street. Fans with a blue Bear Plus Preferred Parking pass can park in the lots next to Stadium Drive across from the Hilton Garden Inn.
Students, faculty and staff who park in those lots should park in lots adjacent to Noland property on Mercer University Drive across from the stadium. Shuttles will operate from those lots to a dropoff in front of Willett Science Center from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Thursday.
Parking lots open at 9 a.m. Thursday for tailgating. General tailgating will be held to the west of Claude Smith Field next to University Center Drive, on the intramural field which is between the football stadium and the softball field and to the west of the School of Medicine near the intersection of College Street and Prince Street. Bear Plus tailgating is available in lots across from and next to the Hilton Garden Inn on Stadium Drive and next to the Drake Field House lot to the southwest of the stadium.
Tents may not exceed an area of 200 square feet, and they must be erected on grassy areas or other areas not designed for parking. Tents must be erected without stakes.
Sites must be cleared and cleaned by midnight or three hours after the game, whichever comes first. No overnight occupancy is allowed in tailgating areas.
The Bears open with the Reinhardt Eagles, who they beat 40-37 in the season opener last year. The Eagles, who went 6-4 in their first year of play, led in the fourth quarter, but Mercer kicker Josh Shutter made a game-winning field goal with three seconds left to play.
