Organizers for the 25th Georgia National Fair want a “Georgia Grown” theme for the annual event in October at the Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter in Perry.
The fair announced Monday two big Grammy-winning country music acts with Georgia roots that will headline this year’s event: Lady Antebellum will appear Oct. 4; and Jennifer Nettles, formerly of Sugarland before going solo, takes the stage Oct. 11. Both acts will perform at Reaves Arena.
Stacy Campbell, director of communications at the fairgrounds, said fair officials are excited to land two well-known acts.
“The main focus is to highlight Georgia and Georgia Grown as our theme,” she said. “Thankfully, we were able to work everything out and have them.”
Never miss a local story.
In addition, the fair will offer three free concerts this year instead of the usual two. The Four Tops and Grapevine will open the festival Oct. 2 at the “Sneak-a-Peek” event, while “Terrific Tuesday” will feature the Spinners and 5th Dimension. Organizers also added “Wow Wednesday,” featuring Ricky Skaggs and Iron Horse.
The fair runs Oct. 2-12, and advance tickets go on sale Aug. 16. For ticket prices and other information, visit georgia nationalfair.com.
