Historic places: Hawkinsville Opera House

The Hawkinsville Opera House, formerly known as the City Auditorium, was built in 1907 and designed by Macon architect W.R. Gunn. The theater, which underwent a $1.7 million renovation in 2000, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.
