Atlanta socialite Lita Sullivan was shot to death by a man who came to her door in 1987 bearing flowers.
Her husband, Macon businessman James Sullivan, was accused of hiring the man to kill her just before their divorce was finalized.
After years of legal maneuvering and a profile of the case on TV, police planned to arrest him, but he fled the country. He was finally found in Thailand after a tip from a viewer of “America’s Most Wanted” and extradited to Atlanta.
He was convicted in 2006.
