Historic places: New Perry Hotel

Since the 1920s, the New Perry Hotel has been a destination for weddings, political events, and tourists. The new hotel replaced the old Perry Hotel after a fire destroyed the former building. It now houses rooms, a restaurant and a tavery, or bar. North Carolina couple Kevin and Patricia Johnson purchased the hotel in 2011 after seeing a newspaper article about the hotel being for sale. It was named to the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.
