More than 350 people received "not just a handout, but a hand up" during a Christmas party for the homeless Tuesday night at First Presbyterian Church in downtown Macon.
Kyle Sawyer, executive pastor at Grace Point Church, said more than 350 people were fed by 150 volunteers. Attendees also received blankets, other essentials and Bibles.
"We're just glad to be part of such a great thing in our community," Sawyer said.
More than 15 organization, led by the Mentors Project of Bibb County, partnered together to put on the party, Sawyer said.
