A baby girl was killed in a Saturday night crash between her mother’s car and her father’s car, Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones said Sunday.
Karleigh Fountain was just 2 months old. She was thrown from her mother’s car, Jones said. She was pronounced dead at The Medical Center of Central Georgia at 5:22 p.m. and died of blunt force trauma.
An autopsy will be performed Monday morning at the GBI crime lab in Macon.
Fountain’s mother, Laqwesha Johnson, 21, was in critical condition in the Medical Center on Sunday afternoon.

Jones said he didn’t know whether Karleigh had been properly secured in her mother’s car. Macon police asked Jones not to release much information about the crash, which is under investigation.
“It could be a domestic issue, and between Laqwesha and the baby’s daddy,” Jones said.
The crash happened around 5:05 p.m. on Interstate 75 south near the Rocky Creek Road exit, Macon police spokeswoman Jami Gaudet said.
Traffic and fatality investigators are probing the cause of the accident. Gaudet said no more information may be available until Monday.
