A fast-moving low pressure system and a weaker than anticipated mass of cold air prevented widespread freezing and weather problems in Georgia overnight.
The National Weather Service canceled its Winter Weather Advisory, but is monitoring some slick spots in the mountains.
The Georgia Department of Transportation also closed its Special Operations Center at about 3 a.m. Friday.
GDOT reports some snow on the Ga. 180 Spur in Union County and an icy patch on Interstate 75 near Whitfield County.

As of 7 a.m., icy conditions were reported as far south as Barrett Parkway near I-575.
The only freezing temperatures were reported north of Atlanta.
There could be some slick spots on bridges and overpasses, but no major problems are anticipated.
Temperatures were in the mid-30s in Macon and at least that warm in most parts of Middle Georgia in the 7 a.m. report.
The National Weather Service expects temperatures will return to near normal or slightly above normal into the weekend.
