A 70-year-old driver didn’t see a jogger in the crosswalk when she turned off Zebulon Road early Friday.
Adam Lamparella, 36, was crossing Marjane Drive just before 7 a.m. when Judy Shockley cut the turn too closely in her 2007 Pontiac Torrent, said Lt. Sean Defoe, public information officer for the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
“It was pretty dark outside in that area,” Defoe said. “She told the deputy she didn’t see the pedestrian.” Lamparella hit his head when he was knocked to the ground.
Defoe said he was taken to The Medical Center of Central Georgia and released later in the morning.
