Traffic in Hawkinsville was delayed and rerouted for about five hours on Wednesday morning after a single-vehicle accident damaged a utility pole.
The driver, whose name was not released, struck a utility pole at U.S. 341 and Commerce Street at about 7:40 a.m., said Sgt. Mike Maynard with the Georgia State Patrol.
The driver was not seriously injured, but the utility pole needs to be replaced.
Traffic was rerouted until around 12:30 p.m., Maynard said.
He did not have any more information about the circumstances of the accident.
