The United Way of Central Georgia will kick off its annual fundraising campaign Thursday at the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame. A reception will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the program starts at 6. Tickets are $15.
The event will have a tailgating theme, which will be reflected in the food and beverage offerings, according to a United Way news release.
Hundreds of volunteers are expected to be at the event, which raises money for 34 local health and human service agencies.
George McCanless, president and publisher of The Telegraph, who is also the United Way’s 2010 campaign chairman, will announce this year’s fundraising goal at the event.
