The Macon Water Authority cleaned up a sewage spill of about 66,000 gallons Friday night after a failure at the Corbin Avenue Lift Station.
According to a release, the pumps cut off at the station at 11:30 p.m., but no warning signal was sent. The spill went into the Ocmulgee River via Bowman Branch.
The area has been cleaned and disinfected. The station is back online.
