An evening outing at a hotel pool ended with the death of Forsyth teenager.
Dominque Davis, 17, was swimming with family members after 9 p.m. Friday at the Hilltop Inn on Ga. 42. He went into the deep end and did not come up, said Sgt. David Asbell, public information officer for the Forsyth Police Department.
“From what the family said, no one in the family could swim very well,” Asbell said.
Davis’ family frantically tried to toss him a life preserver and used other items around the pool to try to rescue him. A Forsyth police officer pulled him from the water, and a hotel guest initiated CPR but could not revive him, Asbell said.
