Decades of Bibb County Superior Court records are now available online — for a fee.
Superior Court Clerk Dianne Brannen said real estate plats from 1823 are now available to subscribers, as well as images from civil and criminal court cases since 2003.
Civil, domestic and criminal court dockets and images are available for about $25 a month, with real estate indexes and images available separately for about $25.
Together, the data is available for about $40 a month.
Daily passes for $4.95 also are available, as are prepaid accounts.
The clerk’s office has four public-access computers for real estate records and another two computers for civil and criminal court records.
Printing is 50 cents per page with a $2 minimum.
“So far we’ve taken in over $3,400 since we started it on Thursday afternoon,” Brannen said.
Real estate records such as deeds were previously available for free.
Brannen said she expects to collect at least $50,000, enough to pay for the new software that allows the clerk’s office put more information online.
The clerk’s office is pioneering Cott Systems’ Verdict software in Georgia.
