Georgia State Patrol officials said Monday that a Haddock man who died Friday in a wreck on Interstate 16 likely crashed because of a damaged front tire.
David Thomas Ives, 21, died Friday afternoon after his front tire blew out while traveling westbound on I-16 near mile marker 64 in Laurens County, officials said. Ives lost control of his vehicle and skidded into a cement culvert, then skidded about 73 feet before striking a tree, officials said. He died on impact.
Officials said they didn’t see any other contributing factors to the accident.
