A Baldwin County woman died Saturday night in Jones County after the vehicle she was driving rolled into a ditch.
Jones County Coroner Jerry Bridges said Desiree Gladin, 49, died after an accident that happened about 11:50 p.m. on a private drive off the 700 block of Cumslo Road.
Gladin, of Browns Crossing Road in Baldwin County, was approaching Cumslo Road when her vehicle left the gravel drive and rolled. No other vehicle was involved.
“She got out of the vehicle on her own, took three steps and collapsed,” Bridges said.
Deputy Coroner William Wright pronounced Gladin dead at 12:25 a.m. Sunday.
A 16-year-old friend of Gladin’s daughter was in the vehicle when it rolled but suffered only minor injuries, Bridges said. Gladin died of blunt trauma, he said. There was no evidence that she was wearing a seat belt. No air bags deployed. Results of Gladin’s toxicology tests are pending.
