A 3-year-old Macon boy was shot accidentally in the chin Tuesday evening, police said.
The boy was taken by ambulance to The Medical Center of Central Georgia where he was listed in critical condition, according to a Macon police news release.
The toddler is expected to be flown to an Atlanta hospital for additional treatment, the release said.
According to the release, a 16-year-old boy was showing off a handgun to a 15-year-old girl at a Roff Avenue home when the child reached for the gun.
As the teenagers were moving the gun out of the child’s reach, the gun discharged, the release said.
