Bibb County sheriff’s deputies and animal control quarantined a Rottweiler after it bit a 12-year-old boy Thursday evening on Joan Drive, a report stated.
According to the report, the boy was walking home when the dog bit him on the hip and tried to drag him. The boy got away, and an adult drove him home.
A deputy found teeth marks, bruising and abrasions on the boy’s hip, the report stated. When a deputy went to the home where the dog attacked the boy, the dog moved aggressively toward him.
The deputy contacted Animal Control, which picked up the dog.
The dog owner was issued a citation for having a vicious dog and for violation of the leash law.
The owner told the deputy his dog had bitten a police officer when the family lived in Arkansas, the report stated.
