Director of Human Resources Ben Hubbard reported Wednesday to the Macon Pension and Retirement Systems board on the status of impending retirements.
Of the 12 retirements Hubbard put forward, nine were among the employees the city laid off last week. He said one more retirement was expected from that group, but that it would come later. Also, Hubbard noted Leah Tinsley — who worked for Macon for 60 years and four months — may be the city’s longest-tenured employee.
Also, the board approved the retirement of Parks and Recreation Director Mike Anthony. His last day is expected to be Friday.
