Uninsured or under-insured Georgians who would like to enroll in a prescription assistance program are invited to participate in an online training Tuesday at 10 a.m. Katherine Cummings, director of the Georgia Rural Health Association, said the program is free and provides a card, much like an insurance card, that gives consumers a discount on purchasing prescription drugs.
The program is offered through TogetherRx, basically a coalition of leading drugmakers wishing to provide low-cost drugs as a public service.
For individuals to find out if they or family members are eligible to enroll, the public is encouraged to call (800) 250-2839. Eligibility can be discussed and the caller can enroll then on the phone, Cummings said.
Consumers may also enroll at www.togetherrxaccess.com. Enrollment is required before access to the seminar.More information is available at www.grhainfo.org.
