Two Tennessee men wrestled Tuesday night with a gunman trying to rob the Arby’s at 3100 Riverside Drive.
Deputies responding to an armed robbery in progress about 9:10 p.m. found the two visitors fighting with 21-year-old Zantory Williams of Macon, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
Williams was carrying a handgun as he walked into the restaurant and encountered the two men, who were passing through town and decided to stop for supper, according to the release.
The Tennesseans tried to take the gun away from Williams and held him until officers arrived.
Williams refused treatment for minor injuries sustained in the scuffle. He was charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery and two counts of aggravated assault, the release stated.
Two others from Macon, 19-year-old Kenneth Lamar Holmes and 23-year-old Twanndolynne Shantavias Towns, were charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery, the release stated.
One of the men from Tennessee was hurt in the fight and was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
