The state Department of Transportation has chosen to repave four roads in unincorporated Bibb County as part of its Local Assistance Road Program, Bibb County Engineer Ken Sheets said Tuesday.
The contract for the jobs is planned to go out in September, he said.
According to Sheets, the roads chosen to be repaved are:
• Forest Hill Road between Northside and Wesleyan drives;• Colaparchee Court;
Never miss a local story.
• Ashford Chase Court; and
• Wesleyan Drive North.
The Local Assistance Road Program helps cities and counties with street resurfacing. The program was suspended last year due to funding issues.
During the most recent legislative session, lawmakers set aside $60 million from motor vehicle fuel tax funds for the program. The funds are planned to be released in two phases — once in the fall and once in the spring.
