A man was badly injured Sunday evening when he crashed a bicycle into a Chevrolet Tahoe on Hall Street in the Fort Hill area.
Police did not immediately release the man’s name Sunday, but said he apparently ran a stop sign and struck the large sport utility vehicle on the passenger’s side.
The man, and a passenger on the back of the bicycle, were riding on Center Street, Macon police Lt. Eric Woodford said. The Tahoe was heading up the hill on Hall Street. Center Street has a stop sign at that intersection; Hall Street does not.
The bicycle passenger was able to walk away from the accident. The other man was taken to The Medical Center of Central Georgia in critical condition and with a bad cut to his head, Woodford said.
The accident was reported about 7:30 p.m., Woodford said.
