A Macon man is behind bars in connection with a methamphetamine lab bust Friday on Thompson Road, according to authorities.
James Michael Arnett, 36, of 3833 Thompson Road, was arrested on charges of possession of Schedule II Drugs and an outstanding warrant from an unrelated crime, according a Macon police news release.
About 5:15 p.m., the Macon police narcotics unit executed a search warrant at Arnett’s residence and located meth, and cash and various drug paraphernalia used to manufacture the drug, according to the release.
Components of a meth lab also were found, authorities said.
The Macon-Bibb County Fire Department hazardous materials unit and the DEA handled the collection of the toxic and possibly explosive substances, according to the release.
Arnett remains in custody at the Bibb County jail without bond, according to jail records. Bond had been set at $1,750.
He now faces additional charges of manufacturing Schedule II Drugs and trafficking Schedule II Drugs, according to authorities.
