Alexander II Magnet School students are doing a school walk for diabetes as part of the American Diabetes Association. The walk will be held Thursday.
Alex II students and teachers are raising money for diabetes research because more than 24 million Americans have diabetes, according to a news release from the American Diabetes Association.
“We are so excited to participate in our annual Walk for Diabetes,” said Jim Mills, Alex II physical education instructor. “Our school goal is $2,000 this year. This is a great opportunity for our students to learn more about diabetes, as well as, raise money for an important cause.”
The students will walk around Tattnall Square park across from the College Avenue school.
