Craving chicken and waffles? This new Macon diner has you covered

Metro Diner, a restaurant once featured on “Diners, Drive-In’s and Dives,” opened its third Georgia location in Macon Tuesday morning.

Located at 3710 Northside Dr., the diner hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony with the Macon Chamber of Commerce at 9 a.m. after months of renovating the former Capital City Bank building.

“It’s been quite a ride getting this together, taking a building that’s been sitting vacant and getting staff involved,” said Managing Partner Mark Cleveland. “It’s wonderful.”

The diner will boast a “made-from-scratch menu” with all-day breakfast, lunch and dinner, said a press release. Signature dishes include Fried Chicken and Waffles, Charleston Shrimp & Grits and their famous Meatloaf Plate. Patrons can also enjoy beer, wine, mimosas and Bloody Marys.

“We’re just excited to have them here,” said Laura McMaster, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the Macon Chamber of Commerce. “They’re well known all over the state of Georgia, especially in Atlanta and Augusta, so we’re glad to have a Metro Diner here in town.”
