Jason Aldean is coming home to Macon this summer.
The reigning Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year is scheduled to play a benefit concert Friday, Aug. 11, at the Macon Coliseum to benefit the Children’s Hospital, Navicent Health.
“Supporting these kids in Macon and their families is something that I’m really proud to be a part of,” Aldean said in a statement. “We’re looking forward to getting back to town, kicking things up a couple notches and hopefully raise a huge amount of money for the hospital so that they can continue to grow and serve my hometown community."
Aldean raised more than a half-million dollars in 2016 in a more intimate setting at the Grand Opera House. Now, the concert is moving to the Coliseum to accommodate more fans.
Ellen Terrell, chief development officer for the Navicent Health Foundation, said the hospital relies on philanthropic support.
“We are thrilled and so very appreciative that Jason made the time to take a detour from his ‘They Don’t Know’ tour to visit Macon for the benefit of our patients at Children’s Hospital, Navicent Health.”
