Two people have been charged in the death of an Alpharetta teen whose body was found in Twiggs County.
Multiple news outlets reported Saturday that Alpharetta police said 20-year-old Hali Karlin of Roswell and 19-year-old Deri Bonaventure-Flores of Norcross are charged with murder, according to the Associated Press. The body of Elijah Smith, 16, was found in a wooded area near Interstate 16.
The Atlanta Journal Constitution reported that police received a tip Thursday and the body was found Friday.
Smith had been reported missing Tuesday. Police told reporters he met two people at a hotel in Alpharetta and left with them. Police said they believe Smith was killed in a vehicle near the hotel and his body was driven to Twiggs County.
Authorities don't know the motive.
