You might have slept right through it, but the earth shook a little early Sunday.
The U.S. Geological Survey reported that a 2.5 earthquake that happened nearly 7 miles to the east-northeast of Gordon.
The quake registered at a depth of about a kilometer just before 12:45 a.m. Sunday.
The agency received just two reports that the quake was felt in two nearby zip codes.
Two minor earthquakes were reported near Sparta in early April.
Paul Caruso, a seismologist with the U.S. Geological Survey’s National Earthquake Information Center in Colorado, said damage is not usually reported with quakes that register less than 5.5 of the Richter scale.
