Traffic accidents are the leading cause of death for children under 14, but there are ways to increase their chances of survival.
Properly installed safety seats can protect youngsters from serious injury.
To make sure car safety seats are safe, the Georgia Governor’s Office of Highway Safety is hosting a safety check 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at Chick-fil-A at 3745 Bloomfield Road in Macon.
Technicians will offer advice on whether the seat is adequate for the age and size of the child, and see that it is properly placed and securely attached.
No appointments are necessary for the event, which is being held in conjunction with National Child Safety Seat Day.
