A Chipotle Mexican Grill representative told The Telegraph late last year it planned to put a store in north Bibb County, and now the company has officially requested a permit from the zoning commission.
The Denver, Colorado-based company has applied for a conditional-use permit to allow a restaurant with alcohol sales and outdoor seating at 120 Tom Hill Sr. Blvd. in the Riverside Commons shopping center. It is on Monday’s agenda for the Macon-Bibb County Planning & Zoning Commission meeting.
Chipotle plans to “build-out and renovate the end cap tenant space and add a fenced outdoor patio seating area,” according to the commission’s staff report. “Plans are to have 22 seats on the patio.”
The restaurant will join Panda Express and Five Guys Burgers and Fries in the shopping center. The chain has about 30 restaurants in Georgia.
