Beginning this week, do-it-yourself meals containing pre-portioned fresh, local ingredients will be available for pickup in downtown Macon.
Ocmulgee Traders, a grocery store and cafe at 455 Poplar St., has teamed up with Macon blogger Eleta Morrison of Bungalow Kitchen to create the meals, according to a news release.
The first box of pre-measured ingredients will be available Thursday and features pork chops from Greenway Farms and salad greens from Babe & Sage Farms. The Valentine’s Day-themed meal comes with everything needed to make two servings of seared pork chops with linguine and mustard cream sauce.
Different meals, which can be created within 30 minutes, will be available each week and will cost $20-$25 for two servings, the release stated.
Never miss a local story.
A new meal box will be created and posted on Ocmulgee Traders’ Facebook page each week. Reservations will be taken Sunday through Wednesday prior to the Thursday-Saturday pick up.
Eventually, Bungalow To Go will become a subscription service.
