How long have you been in business?: Dean and his wife bought the existing building in May, but they have been catering for the past 10 years. The store carries raw chicken, pork and beef as well as sides such as dips, appetizers and soups.
The couple still caters, and they operate that business through the shop.
“We do anything from heavy appetizers to a full-blown meal. ... We always had a knack for cooking and food.”

Dean used to be in construction work, and his wife still works in her father’s business.
What do you like best about your job?: “I enjoy just about everything we are doing. ... It’s really interesting to educate customers when they come in ... on different ways to cook food.”
What is your specialty?: “I guess our speciality would be our beef because we carry certified Angus beef. ... We do a lot of sides. We have a lot of fresh frozen vegetables. So basically we want to be a one-stop shop, so people can come in here, get their meat, get their sides, anything they need, and go home and not have to go to Kroger or Publix.”
What are your future plans?: “My plan is to eventually build a stand-alone building and expand.”
