A veterans career expo scheduled in Dublin this week has been postponed.
The career expo was scheduled by the Georgia Department of Labor for Thursday, but hot temperatures expected this week caused it to be postponed, according to a news release.
The event was planned at the Georgia National Guard Armory, but it is not air conditioned and temperatures are expected to be in the high 90s.
“The (labor department) decided to postpone because of concerns about the comfort and well being of the employers and job seekers who attend,” the release said. “The career expo will be rescheduled in the fall when the weather is cooler.”
Meanwhile, veterans can get employment–related assistance at the Dublin Career Center at 910 North Jefferson St. The center’s phone number is 478-275-6525.
